As of September 2017, the government is offering up to 30 hours free childcare for those that qualify. We are proud to announce that we are able to offer these 30 hours. You do not have to use the full 30 hours even if you are eligible, for example if you wanted to use 25 hours that would be fine. Here’s how to find out if you are eligible and how to apply…
You are eligible if you meet both of the following criteria;
- Earn more than the equivalent of 16 hours at minimum wage. For example if you work 10 hours at £12 per hour you will be eligible. If you are single parent, you just have to earn the equivalent of the 16 hours, however if you have a partner/spouse living with you (regardless of whether or not you are both the childs parent) you must both earn/work the minimum wages/hours.
- Your household income is less than £100,000.
For more information on eligibility click here … 30_hours_free_childcare_eligibility
You need to apply on line via the following link https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
Once you have applied you will be given a code to give to preschool, which we will then use to claim the funding for the hours you use. This must all be done before the start of the term you wish to claim these hours for or you will not be able to claim the free hours from us for that term. For example if you wish to claim your 30 hours for September 2017 term you need to have given us your code before that term starts.
Once you have your code and know you are eligible, speak to Liz about the hours you want and pass the code onto her so it can be processed. There are limited spaces for the full 30 hours so its best to do this asap.
